About Our Client
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader as the Head of Supply Chain. Based in the Chicago suburbs, this role will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations for our large metal manufacturing business. The Head of Supply Chain will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient procurement, production, and distribution of high-quality metal products. Job Description
• Leadership & Strategy: Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, providing direction, mentorship, and continuous professional development to ensure optimal team performance and career growth.
• Supply Chain Management: Oversee the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution for all manufacturing sites.
• Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-effective supply chain strategies, while maintaining product quality and on-time delivery standards.
• Vendor & Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts, terms, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Process Improvement & Innovation: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging technology, data analytics, and lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes and enhance supply chain efficiency.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, ensuring business continuity and minimizing any impact on operations.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and other departments to align supply chain strategies with overall business goals.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain performance. Provide regular reporting to executive leadership, highlighting trends, challenges, and opportunities.
• Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and environmental sustainability practices in all supply chain activities.

The Successful Applicant
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within manufacturing or metal industries.
• Strong knowledge of metal manufacturing processes, supply chain logistics, and procurement strategies.
• Demonstrated success in managing and optimizing large, complex supply chain operations.
• Expertise in supply chain technology, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to drive results through team leadership, collaboration, and process improvement.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Experience with global supply chains is highly desirable.
