Position Summary
The Planner is responsible for managing the flow of goods and materials within ODU’s supply chain, ensuring timely delivery and minimized costs with a focus on customer satisfaction. This role handles the execution of materials planning, management of orders received and to be fulfilled to achieve best availability of product to customer or materials to factory while also ensuring supply chain planning goals are met. Ideal candidates will be self-starters with a background in planning and/or purchasing, along with strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Responsibilities
• Coordinates with internal teams including sales, production and procurement, to determine and align the demand and supply plans in the MRP system
• Communicates effectively with internal suppliers, procurement, production and sales to ensure the smooth flow of material and products through the supply chain
• Monitors and manages inventory levels to achieve best materials availability to support customer demands while also minimizing excess inventory exposure
• Monitors assigned customer agreements to ensure proper execution to the framework, rolling forecasts and safety stocks, etc.
• Assists in the planning and implementation of ODU inventory strategy to meet inventory goals in partnership with production and internal teams
• Processes requests to expedite finished goods or raw materials in support of customer or production requirements, ensuring plans are executed to achieve best delivery dates to the customer
• Utilizes MRP system to analyze and take appropriate actions for pull-ins, push-outs and cancellations
• Manages orders received and to be fulfilled for Internal Suppliers i.e. ODU Group entities
• Partners with internal and external stakeholders, such as operations and suppliers, to ensure alignment and efficiency, including process improvements and value stream management
• Analyzes supply chain data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
• Supports other duties and projects as assigned
• High School, GED or equivalent required; higher education in Supply Chain, Business or related field a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing and/or planning required, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in MRP/ERP is required; SAP strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of methodology and techniques in Supply Chain Planning
• Strong knowledge of production planning and common manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word
• Able to navigate and learn new systems and technology
• Able to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Problem solver and critical thinker with the ability to pivot and navigate change quickly
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Fluent in Spanish a plus

Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000 plus additional bonus potential. ODU considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
