**Job Summary:**
The Category Manager, Packaging role at Tarkett North America is a key position responsible for developing and executing competitive and sustainable packaging solutions ($20M). This individual contributor position involves collaborating with stakeholders across Tarkett’s business units to identify spend requirements and implement effective category strategies.
**Specific duties include:**
– Identifying innovative packaging solutions with a focus on total cost of ownership, sustainability, risk management, and cost improvements.
– Leading value add/value engineering programs in design to cost activities within the packaging category.
– Developing and executing category plans and sourcing strategies for packaging and related goods/services.
– Establishing contract strategies and negotiating key commercial positions.
– Utilizing the 7 Step Sourcing process to manage category activities effectively.
– Leading cross-functional stakeholder councils to ensure performance of category management strategies.
– Analyzing market dynamics, establishing KPI targets, and conducting supplier business reviews.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
– Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent (MBA preferred).
– Minimum 5 years of Production, Sourcing, or Engineering experience.
– Ability to travel up to 25%.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Experience in leading cross-functional teams in a multi-factory environment.
– Knowledge of packaging cost drivers and market trends.
– Strong business case development skills and experience in category management strategies.
– Proficiency in market benchmarking and cost modeling analytics.
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
