About This Role
Reporting to the Warehouse Transformation Leader, the Project Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for executing strategic changes to the Supply Chain and Logistics network. This position is accountable for the successful management and orchestration of project implementation – taking projects from concepts designed by the strategic leadership team to final operating stages; ultimately handing ownership over to the operations leadership team.
This role defines, plans and executes projects according to strict deadlines and budgets while coordinating inputs and tasks from broad functional areas in the company.
Job Description
Lead, guide and direct project development and execution from cradle to graveDefine project scope, goals and objectives in collaboration with Supply Chain and Logistics senior leadership team and company stakeholdersDevelop formal project management plans, timelines, R&O material, and communication documentsConduct post-mortems and implement best practices for continuous improvement in project management and executionIdentify contingency operating plansAct as liaison between third party vendors, corporate real estate, SC&L leadership, finance and company stakeholdersDefine requirements and manage start up teams and project resourcesDelegate tasks and responsibilities within the project teamIdentify and resolve obstaclesManage change during project lifecycle (scope, functionality, etc)Define success criteria and measure project performance against predetermined metricsBuild and cultivate relationships with external vendors and internal resources for the success of existing and future projectsMotivate, organize and encourage teamwork across the workforce to ensure all objectives are metSets goals, establish priorities, manage resources, and review project progress and resultsApply continuous improvement tools to identify and eliminate the root causes of issues that may arise within the warehouse operations. Participate in teams, committees, events and training that improve the organization’s culture, productivity and safetyCreate strategies and deploys measures to achieve Carrier Excellence objectivesCreate and maintain departmental reports as required
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree10+ years of experience in a logistics operations environment5+ years Project Management experience in distribution/transportation fieldAbility to travel up to 50% of the time (may include international travel)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business, finance, engineering or supply chain or progress toward degree with 10 years of logistics experiencePMP certificationExperience with leading successful Greenfield or Brownfield distribution startupsWorking knowledge of WMS, TMS, and SAP and warehouse related technologyStrong written, verbal and public speaking communication skills – ranging from small leadership presentations to 100+ all employee meetingsExecutive level presence enabling successful corporate executive dialogsAbility to conform and manage to shifting prioritiesSelf-directed, autonomous leader with flexibility to adapt to team environments – collaboratively working and cooperating with other functional areas of the businessDemonstrated ability to learn and apply evolving industry technologiesAdaptable to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organizationAbility to make logical and accurate decisions using the best available informationDetail-oriented and well organizedExcellent skills in word processing, spreadsheet use and development, and integrated data base systemsPassionate about eliminating problems before they occur
